PLANS SUBMITTED FOR TAPTON COURT

New life for the stunning Grade II listed Tapton Court in Sheffield

We have submitted plans to redevelop the Grade II listed Tapton Court in Sheffield to create new housing.

It is a glorious building, built in 1868 for one of the town’s many steel magnates, and was once described as a “brass castle above the fog of the town.” It was later bought to provide accommodation for nurses at the nearby hospital and most recently used by Sheffield University as halls of residence for student nurses.

We want to turn it back to the majesty of its heyday, preserving many of its original features such as the ornate staircase and windows and convert the space to create 14 apartments within its splendid walls.

The Court’s original stable block and Gate House lodge would also be converted to create unique individual properties.

Ranmoor House annexe, which was built later, would be converted to create 18 new homes and we also plan to build four new houses in the grounds while retaining the estate’s historic terraced wall.

PJ Livesey joint MD Georgina Livesey said: “Tapton Court has been empty for a decade and is currently on the City Council’s At Risk register. Our proposals will not only save this beautiful building with its lovely historic features but provide a series of unique new homes for this lovely part of Sheffield.

“Saving historic treasures like this is what PJ Livesey has been doing for the past 40 years and we take great pride in creating a new legacy for the buildings we redevelop.”

A full planning application for the conversion and change of use has been submitted to Sheffield City Council and if approved we would anticipate work starting on site this summer.

A fulsome history of Tapton Court and its interesting owners can be found on the excellent Sheffielder website:

SOUTH TOWER, LANCASTER MOOR

Our extremely rewarding conversion of The Residence Lancaster Tower

Its three years since we completed the challenging but extremely rewarding conversion of Lancaster Moor at Lancaster.

All the apartments in this landmark Grade 2 listed building are wonderful but the six storey South Tower is uniquely special.

It took all our skill and ingenuity to transform it into a beautiful home and it was great to see it featured in the Bricks and Mortar property section of The Times.

While the living accommodation boasts a sleek ground floor kitchen/family area, two lounges on higher floors and a master suite and three more bedrooms, it is the top floor observation deck that captures the imagination with far reaching views to the Lake District and across Morecombe Bay.

It is a stunning home, utterly unique, obviously well-loved and we feel a long standing testament to the skill and vision of the PJ Livesey team when it comes to giving old buildings new life.

COMING SOON, GREEN WALK STANDISH

A new development set within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Green Walk, Standish will be one of our most ambitious developments to date.

A 30-acre estate, dating back to 1818, in a stunning Cotswolds location with a Grade II listed manor house and three more listed buildings.

We are converting these historic buildings into characterful homes but the site also presents the opportunity for us to build a number of new homes in keeping with this very special setting.

Work has been safely progressing on site and we anticipate the first new build homes will be released for sale before the end of the year.

Joint MD Georgina Livesey said: “The current circumstances have placed an even greater importance on where and how we live and I do not think that will change. We all want a less hurried life with flexible space to work from home and easy access to nature.

“Green Walk, Standish has a very special feel. It is set apart from the nearest village of Stonehouse and approached up a sweeping drive through a historic arboretum planted when the manor house was built which now has some majestic and beautiful trees of national significance.

“The new homes we are building are designed specifically for Standish with plenty of room to be flexible and space for families to grow and thrive and enjoy this wonderful location.

“They offer a rare opportunity to be part of creating a unique community within the Park itself and to embrace the wider community of Stonehouse and Stroud.”

Only six properties are being released in the first phase. Built of solid stone they are thoughtfully planned with spacious rooms, high specification and private gardens within the wider grounds.

Full details of Phase I properties will be released to pre-registered clients in advance of the public launch, which will be held in Spring 2021. For your chance to receive exclusive preview information and invitations to pre-launch events please register your interest today click here >

Georgina added: “So much love and care is going into creating Green Walk, Standish that we look forward to welcoming our first visitors in the new year.”

The village of Stonehouse sits just off the M5 offering an easy commute to Cheltenham (30 mins) and Bristol (40 mins)

GASTRO PUB TO OPEN IN ALDERLEY PARK

The conversion of the Tenants Hall at Alderley Park into a gastro pub is almost complete

The building, which dates back to 1901, sits in the upper courtyard of our Historic Quarter development and, together with the courtyard cottages we converted, is one of the few buildings remaining from the original estate.

To be known as The Churchill Tree it will be operated by The Cheshire Pub company which already runs The Ship Inn at Styal and The Frozen Mop at Mobberley and is scheduled to open before the end of the year if Covid restrictions allow.

The pub will add to facilities for residents at the park who already have access to a state of the art gym and the coffee shops at the main Alderley Park campus.

Add in open access to 400 acres of glorious parkland and the amenities of Alderley Edge five minutes away and it is easy to see why the location is so popular.

We have just one property remaining for sale at Alderley Park – a wonderful, two-bedroom apartment at the Water Garden. With one wall of glass opening out onto the peaceful gardens and views out over the park it is a very special property.

Ready to move into with a huge £15,000 Stamp Duty saving please call our sales consultant on 07801 576 264 to make an appointment to view.

And you could be saying Cheers to your new neighbours in your very own ‘local’.

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES

Our Didsbury garden apartment comes with a package of goodies

We are supporting local businesses by adding a package of goodies that will make the buyer of our final garden apartment at Parklands, Didsbury, feel even more at home.

Plants from Flourish, a fridge full of beers from The Epicurean and luxury candles from Moth will add the final touches to this two bedroom show apartment which already includes fitted bedroom furniture, carpets and blinds.

Group Sales Manager Gavin Pearce said: “These are all wonderful independent shops that serve both of our Didsbury developments that have been forced to close their door during the second lock down. We wanted to show our support and it means whoever buys the apartment can have some lovely treats when they move in.

“Our marketing suite at 825 Didsbury is still open and buyers can make a private appointment to view the show apartment so they can truly appreciate how light and bright it is.”

Priced at £394,950 it qualifies for the Government’s current Help to Buy scheme which means it is available with only a 5% deposit. And as it is ready to move into there will be no stamp duty to pay.

Gavin added: “With everything in place you could be living in Apartment 08 by Christmas, surrounded by lush plants or maybe an amazing Christmas tree, enjoying a hand crafted beer in a wonderfully scented living room!”
