SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

We were pleased to support the work of the PTA at Cavendish Road Primary School

We were pleased to support the work of the PTA at Cavendish Road Primary School in Didsbury by providing each pupil with a new reading book for Christmas – and very grateful to Santa for taking time out to deliver them in person on the day of the school’s Xmas Fair. Managing Director Georgina Lynch said: “The joy of reading is really important and we hope all the children enjoy their books.
“Schools and teachers have had a tough time over the last two years and we were pleased to support the work of the PTA as it continues to organise the extra activities and treats that are so appreciated. “We have delivered many schemes in Didsbury and it continues to be one of Manchester’s most popular areas for many reasons – including great schools.”

Ralph’s 25,000 Miles Around the World

25,000 MILES AROUND THE WORLD

We did it! We went Around the World for Ralph and raised money for the Christie Charity

The amazing PJ Livesey Team’s Round the World challenge ended with an incredible 24-hour-cyclathon at company headquarters to clock up the final 1,000 of the 25,000-mile journey

And it was wonderful that director Ralph Brocklehurst got the team over the finish line by cycling the last mile to bring us back home safely.

It followed an epic effort by director Craig Lynch and construction operations manager Gareth Whittaker who spent 24 hours in the saddle cycling around the clock. They were supported throughout the day and night by colleagues and we ended with a well-deserved party.

Thanks to the enormous efforts of everyone at PJ Livesey, supported by donations from friends, family, contractors, and suppliers we have raised more than £11,000 for The Christie Hospital Charity.

We would like to thank everyone for every single mile walked, run, cycled or swum and for every penny donated. The amount has already far exceeded our initial target but The Christie fundraising has been affected badly by the lack of events over the last year and we intend to leave the Fundraising page open until the end of June.

Georgina Livesey said: “It has been the most incredible journey around the world – both inspiring and humbling. I am so proud of the team and the effort everyone has put in both to do the miles and raise this incredible amount to support the work of such a great hospital. The treatment and care it provides for so many people like our colleague Ralph is world-class. It was typical of his indomitable spirit and strength that he wanted to get us over the finish line and play his part in completing the challenge which he inspired.” Anna McIntosh, major relationships development manager, at The Christie, was on hand to accept a cheque on behalf of the charity.

UPDATE: AROUND THE WORLD FOR RALPH

We are now more than half way on our Around the World for Ralph fund raising expedition.

The PJ Livesey Team is walking, running, rowing and cycling our way around the world – covering a whopping 25,000 miles – to raise money for The Christie Charity.

with fundraising now topping £3,500 we have doubled our original target to £5,000. All the money will go to The Christie where our colleague Ralph, and many others, are receiving wonderful treatment and care.

It has been great to see so many of the PJ Livesey team recording their steps every day whether walking around on-site, getting some fresh air at lunchtime or hitting the spin bike at home. Special mention to Keiran Graham Who ran 50 miles from Manchester to Liverpool.

Thanks also to the litter pickers, the dog walkers, the weekend hikers and the rowers. Every mile counts.

After travelling West, we have finally reached Russia and are now heading home.

AROUND THE WORLD FOR RALPH

The PJ Livesey Team are raising money for The Christie Charity

The PJ Livesey Team is walking, running, rowing and cycling our way around the world – covering a whopping 25,000 miles – to raise money for The Christie Charity.

This amazing challenge is also to support our colleague Ralph, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment at The Christie Hospital in Manchester.

Clocking up these miles is our way of showing him we are with him every step of the way.

Georgina Livesey said: “My initial idea was to cross the Atlantic for Ralph and then someone suggested we should circumnavigate the world and I was sold!

“Ralph has been an integral part of PJ Livesey since the company was founded and continues to inspire us now with his humour and strength. It speaks volumes that so many people are joining in to take on the world for him!”

Eighty people are recording their daily miles with progress plotted on a giant map.

The Christie provides outstanding treatment and care for Ralph and many others and we are trying to raise an initial £2,500 whilst traveling 25,000 miles Around the World for Ralph!

We have already completed 3300 miles and have currently just passed Montreal.

We will add regular updates here and would love it if people wanted to donate to this wonderful cause.

Tapton Court Plans Submitted

PLANS SUBMITTED FOR TAPTON COURT

New life for the stunning Grade II listed Tapton Court in Sheffield

We have submitted plans to redevelop the Grade II listed Tapton Court in Sheffield to create new housing.

It is a glorious building, built in 1868 for one of the town’s many steel magnates, and was once described as a “brass castle above the fog of the town.” It was later bought to provide accommodation for nurses at the nearby hospital and most recently used by Sheffield University as halls of residence for student nurses.

We want to turn it back to the majesty of its heyday, preserving many of its original features such as the ornate staircase and windows and convert the space to create 14 apartments within its splendid walls.

The Court’s original stable block and Gate House lodge would also be converted to create unique individual properties.

Ranmoor House annexe, which was built later, would be converted to create 18 new homes and we also plan to build four new houses in the grounds while retaining the estate’s historic terraced wall.

PJ Livesey joint MD Georgina Livesey said: “Tapton Court has been empty for a decade and is currently on the City Council’s At Risk register. Our proposals will not only save this beautiful building with its lovely historic features but provide a series of unique new homes for this lovely part of Sheffield.

“Saving historic treasures like this is what PJ Livesey has been doing for the past 40 years and we take great pride in creating a new legacy for the buildings we redevelop.”

A full planning application for the conversion and change of use has been submitted to Sheffield City Council and if approved we would anticipate work starting on site this summer.

A fulsome history of Tapton Court and its interesting owners can be found on the excellent Sheffielder website:

P J Livesey Market Update

SEPTEMBER, 2020

PJ LIVESEY MARKET UPDATE

Since the restrictions of the lockdown relaxed in May, we’ve helped 45 people into their new home.

We’ve had no reported cases of any of our Staff having the virus and continue to do everything we can to keep protecting our staff and customers, including putting procedures in place to allow you to visit our developments safely.

Our sales negotiators are performing morning health checks before coming into work and our Marketing Suites are marked out to keep social distancing, with hand sanitizer and face masks available. We want you to feel secure and confident while visiting our developments and know that your safety is always our main priority.

The recent months have changed the way we live and therefore changed the way we look at the space around us and our home comforts as well as our commute. We’ve seen an increase in the purchase of our properties at all sites and repeatedly hear from our clients about the generous outside spaces we offer or more rural surroundings.

Our Water Garden development in Alderley is now down to the final property available and with over 400 acres of parkland on your doorstep, a short commute into town and large balcony spaces you can see why these have become so sort after with recent events.

Our Green Walk development in Didsbury has now only six properties available. The executive three story houses include open plan living, balconies and generous gardens as well as home study rooms. Everything you may have realised is important to how you and your family live while under the restrictions of today’s world. Whilst the two and three bedroom apartments are spacious, in the heart of Didsbury with easy commute to Manchester City Centre and also feature generous balconies for alfresco dining.

825 Didsbury has had the most success over the recent months with the highest reservations taken. Phase I houses and over 80% of our Parkland apartment block are reserved or completed. If you’re looking for a home in Didsbury with P J Livesey standards of space and comfort.

We are seeing demand for new homes at the moment and although we advise our clients to create an appointment before travelling to site to help maintain our social distance standards, we have noticed an increase in walk-in customers and people excited to purchase a new home and that’s understandable because it is an exciting time to look.

With Help to Buy available as well as the ‘Stamp Duty Holiday’ you could not only get yourself into a home you didn’t think you could afford but also save a great amount of money doing it.

So we’re happy to announce that we’ve pushed the construction process forward for our latest development in Storeton so you can get the most for your money and not miss out on these amazing schemes.

Storeton Hall has already had an amazing start with six pre-release reservations taken out of our first phase eight-property release. The National Launch of this exciting new development will be in October with properties completing before the ‘Stamp Duty Holiday’ ends.

We know that not everyone is comfortable with the thought of venturing out just yet and we will still be providing virtual tours and links to help you to view our developments from the comfort of your own home.

We will continue to monitor the developing situation closely while following all Government and public health guidelines. So please look out for further updates.

Best Regards
The PJ Livesey Team
