STANDISH HOUSE & STABLES Coming Soon

Heritage homes soon to be released at Green Walk, Standish

A unique part of Cotswold heritage now converted to create sumptuous, individual homes.

Standish House and its adjoining traditional stable block were built around 1830 as part of a vast estate belonging to James Dunnton, Lord Sherbourne of Gloucestershire.

He lived in the handsome, rendered villa for about 20 years and was responsible for overseeing the planting of a rich arboretum with specimen trees and shrubs collected from across the world.

The house was later rented out, leased at one time to industrialist Richard Potter, one of whose eight children was Martha Beatrice Potter, later Webb, (Baroness Passfield) would become a great economist, socialist and social reformer who was instrumental in the formation of the Fabian Society.

The house served as a hospital during the wars and because of its elevated, privileged location, later became a specialist centre for the treatment of tuberculosis.

The PJ Livesey Group is respecting this rich social history, conserving the past by converting the house and its grounds into new homes.

STANDISH HOUSE
Standish House will provide just 12 grand apartments, each one unique, each one a very special privileged place to live.

These are luxurious spaces, many with high ceilings, intricate cornicing, huge windows and the highest specification of kitchens and bathrooms.

All have their own private outside space either a secluded roof top terrace, spacious balcony or private garden.

STANDISH HOUSE STABLES
The original stables are being converted to create two, three-bedroom houses and two with four-bedrooms.

These character houses sit around their own private walled courtyard offering well designed living space perfect for growing families or first-time buyers.

THE CHRISTIE ‘WALK OF HOPE’ AT TATTON PARK

One Team, One Week, 1,000 Miles!

PJ Livesey colleagues took part in this year’s ‘Walk of Hope’ through Tatton Park to support The Christie hospital in Manchester.

But in typical PJ Livesey style we added to the challenge by committing to walk every day in the week leading up to the walk and also remember and celebrate the life of colleague Ralph Brocklehurst who sadly died from cancer last year.

‘Tread it for Ralph’ saw colleagues clocking up the miles on a treadmill in our Trafford Park HQ entrance throughout the week ahead of the actual walk with a final push tied in with a social event at the offices.

We were aiming for a total of 500 miles but in total walked a staggering 1,368 miles and raised £7,234.

The care Ralph received from The Christie was exceptional and every penny raised will help fund more research and care.

In 2021, we raised £11,000 walking, running and cycling 25,000 miles, ‘Around the World for Ralph’. You can read more about ‘Around the World for Ralph here.

A spokesperson for The Christie said: “It was wonderful to see more than 50 staff and their families join us for our recent ‘Walk of Hope’ event. This is an exceptional turnout from one company and not only is it a lasting testament to a wonderful colleague, but the money raised will make a very real difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families. Well done everyone involved and a huge thank you from all at The Christie.”

SUSTAINABLE LIVING IN THE HEART OF THE COTSWOLDS

Energy efficient houses creating sustainable living in this unique historic setting

Our Green Walk development at the beautiful Standish Estate in the Cotswolds boasts superb new properties set in landscaped grounds, centred round a Grade II listed villa.

It’s a beautiful site, repurposing heritage buildings to become modern homes and with a wide range of new build properties to suit people at all stages of life.

Our latest release is a trio of supremely energy efficient houses where the latest technology is incorporated to create luxurious, sustainable living in this unique historic setting.

These are exceptional houses, offering spacious, flexible accommodation, set over three levels to make the most of the views, with their own private gardens.

Group sales manager Gavin Pearce, said: “The range of properties available at Green Walk, often surprises buyers but means we are creating a truly mixed community where old buildings are cherished and new homes sit comfortably alongside.

“The Hawthorn house type offers the opportunity to live in this lovely setting in a property that generates its own power and will be incredibly efficient to run.

“We believe it offers buyers the rare opportunity to purchase a very large property which meets the highest environmental standards in a development that will never be replicated.”

The high tech green trio will have: waste water heat recovery systems, triple glazing, exceptional insulation, photo-voltaic panels and the facility to store the power created, and the potential for electric vehicle charging.

Added up it means that the properties will use 43% less energy.

The contemporary design of the properties complements these eco credentials with multi-functional spaces that could easily accommodate the growing trend for multi- generational living.

The grand entrance, which can also be accessed directly from the garage, leads through into the high specification open plan kitchen/family/dining area which spans the full width of the house with bi-fold doors leading directly onto a balcony. This level also offers a private study, utility and powder room.

Wide stairs take you to the lower level with a large living area opening directly onto the private garden.

This level also offers a self-contained guest suite and a multi-functional room that can be accessed directly from outside which could be a media room/den or second living room.

The master suite is on the first floor together with three more large double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite. There is also a master bathroom and ample storage.

Gavin added: “Green Walk is a stunning development, approached through a gate house and up a private drive and offers buyers a completely different way of life with walks around the estate passed century old trees and direct access to woodland walks and the surrounding countryside.

“These homes offer buyers their own eco-retreat, yet are just ten minutes from the town of Stonehouse with its direct rail link into London and a 15-minute trip to Stroud.”

A CONTEMPORARY ‘CASTLE’ ABOVE THE CITY

Stunning designer dressed show home now available to purchase

Just one property remains available in the first phase of our Tapton Court development in Sheffield – and it is stunning.

A three-bedroom penthouse, with huge windows and a wide balcony offering distant views looking over the treetops to the city.

This extraordinary property occupies the top two floors of the East Court of the main iconic conversion and comes complete with a host of interior designer selected extras, these include; fitted wardrobes in two bedrooms, upgraded light fittings, blinds and carpets throughout all included within the purchase price of £599,950.

And it will be part of a development setting new standards of luxury and exclusivity in the city.

Tapton Court is a historically fascinating site, and when the ornate stone villa was completed in 1868 for one of the city’s steel magnates, it was described as: ‘A brass castle above the fog of the town.’

Group sales manager Gavin Pearce, said: “This is the final opportunity to own a contemporary home within the East Court which is ready to move into – your own contemporary castle!

“Tapton Court is a lovely development in the desirable Ranmoor district providing a unique mix of homes set around open lawns and bounded by mature trees and stone walls.

“You approach through the original restored gates, past the gatehouse and up the sweeping drive and see the original Grade 2 listed stone villa. It really is very special.

“Properties at Tapton are appealing to a wide range of people – all of whom appreciate the history and location of the site.

“The penthouse in the East Court is a lovely space, full of light, and the new owner will benefit from lots of show home extras. We believe it offers a unique combination of easy luxury living with history and location. There is nowhere else like it.”

CHORLTON CONSULTATION BEGINS

We’d like to hear your views on plans and what you’d like to see happen

We are drawing up proposals to redevelop the Chorlton Shopping Centre site in South Manchester and want to hear the views of neighbours and the wider community on what they would like to see happen.

The site offers huge potential to provide a mix of new homes, modern shops and improved landscaping to once again be the focal centre of this thriving suburb.

One Chorlton is the start of this conversation with a website giving more information and the chance to comment and we are also encouraging people to complete questionnaires and write to us.

This initial consultation will close on Monday August 21st and the feedback we receive will help inform a detailed masterplan which we hope to be able to consult on later this year.

Managing Director Georgina Lynch, said: “Chorlton has its own unique character and energy and we want to understand local ambitions for the area and what we should be considering as we work on the masterplan.

“Building on the site’s potential, we want to create a neighbourhood that responds to how people live, work, shop and spend time today with energy efficient new homes, new shops and outdoor spaces where people can spend time.

“We want to engage as widely as possible with all sections of the community and look forward to the first conversations about One Chorlton with further consultation, including in person events, planned for later this year as plans for the site evolve.”
